As the egomaniacal tyrant he is, he probably feels sadistic satisfaction of being loved for destroying the world rather tjan saving it. Elon craves for attention and to be like, but never for good things. He wants to be a pro gamer, pro memer, pro fascist. Not a world savior, but an accelerationist.

Ya, it's crazy that damn near any billionaire - hell, most millionaires - could make such a significant difference in the world if they used their resources in a halfway competently.

Extrapolate that to most countries, too. It's stupid and very telling of the leadership currently in control.
