Moved to Canada and my daughter thought it was so dumb there are no cameras on her schoolbus because they won’t be able to catch a shooter. Explained to her they have gun laws here so that doesn’t happen. She said “well why don’t we have those in the US?”
I'm only 31, but my high school didn't have a fence around it, it was 100 years old. But I drive by now and there's now a gate between all the buildings and it feels more like trapping students in than protecting them.
There was not an epidemic of school shooting when they were making the Magic Schoolbus (94-97). Columbine was in '99. It's only been 25 years and it's crazy how quickly it's spiraled. Sandyhook-2012. Once dead elementary school kids weren't enough to wake people up, it just got worse.
Reading this as a non-American makes my heart so sad and my stomach so sick. I am sure there are many Americans who feel the same way, but I just don’t understand the passion for guns. 🇨🇦
If they did I am sure the Gun nuts would have a cow. Knowing them anything that shows guns in a negative light they have a cow. I never saw the TV shows myself. I was around when the first Magic Schoolbus Book was made and read it in the 3rd grade. So I really don't know what the TV shows covered.
