The "getting behind the Laken Riley Act in order to lay the groundwork to fight Trump harder later" rationalization, if true, is the most inane reason for capitulation yet.

I believe @daveweigel.bsky.social suggested somewhere that Dems may be getting behind the Laken Riley Act in order to lay the groundwork to fight Trump harder later. I hope so, but I still think those demanding a more centrist posture should say what they actually want to see happen here.
