Just a reminder that the the way the Senate was set up is fundamentally undemocratic and broken. And facilitates the rule of a white upper class minority over the working class majority.

Was thinking of changing my handle to "We_the_People" but it isn't quite time yet. Probably after whatever Kent State like event triggers the revolution. Not quite hot enough out yet. Maybe when the college kids are done with classes?🤷♂️

Have you ever considered moving to a multi-party system with proportional representation? They are messy, but they promote engagement of the entire populace because at that point your vote actually matters. It renders gerrymandering almost useless.
Democracy by its very nature, can be exploited and flawed and can be manipulated. It allows for bad choices. The worst choice is not to vote. Every person that did not vote failed democracy.
This is not born out by the historical record, which shows a clear trend of the Democrats getting a larger share of the votes as the number of votes cast grows.
The Permanent Apportionment Act of 1929 in the House was the final nail. If states / districts actually represented the population if is highly unlikely MAGA exist in any meaningful way. The house is supposed to represent the populace, after ‘29 it favored the minority.
Yeah, they should have voted to shutdown and passed the baton to "the resistance" (Indivisible, 5050.1, and the rest of us). I am quite sure that "We, the people" would have howled loudly enough to shut down DOGE and force an honest negotiation.
It was Thomas Jefferson that said "a little Rebellion now and then is a good thing". They want an all-out rebellion in this country, WE THE PEOPLE can give it to them.
We can't amend the Constitution to change the number of senators per state. But we can amend it to strip the senate of power. We can shift its powers to the House, or create a third chamber with senatorial powers, but with more equitable representation.
The entire system is stacked against majority rule. Which explains the GOP success in obstructing almost all meaningful progress in America for the last half century. The electoral college must be eliminated and the number of Senators needs to be made relative to the population of their states.

Perhaps when the United States falls to rock bottom and begins to rebuild itself the Free, Democratic world will demand political, social, and economic reforms and we may get a government that actually works for the people. We must change to a coalition of groups so that a single person can rule.
We need to go further: abolish federalism, subordinate the executive and judiciary to the unicameral legislature, and subject representatives to binding mandates enforceable by recall.
It wasn’t until much later in life that I realized it’s all a farce. Start with the Electoral College. Undemocratic. The majority popular vote means NOTHING. And we got Bush from that. And 2 wars and a financial meltdown. Now trump 2.0, a fascism government takeover.
The way we look at the founding fathers as godlike is ridiculous. A lot of this shit really wasn’t as well thought out as the framers’ nut-huggers like to believe.
Yeah, that’s kinda my point. That it’s silly that so many act like they were so prescient, wise, and had it all figured out…and even sillier that some (the rigid originalist dorks) think the constitution can and should he anything but a living document.
None of the countries that modeled their democracies directly on the U.S. constitution remained democratic. Those that were lucky enough to recover from the fallout and try again adopted different models.
