- Keep pressing Trump on guarantees, even if prospect fading
- Do all possible to avoid Trump blaming Ukr and/or Europe for a no-deal
- No alt. to rearmament in every scenario
- Prepare to keep Ukr armed to best poss. degree e.g. what can ROK/Turkey sell?

There's also a question of willingness from those countries. The US had to lean on S.Korea a bit to share their stockpiles of ammo. Big question of if they'll continue without that pressure.

As part of ramping up supplies, we surely need to put taxes up to help raise funds for defence and to help try and mitigate the fact that US seems to no longer be an ally - the world is now different from the election last year. I wish Labour would take this opportunity and seek to put taxes up

There is a European alternative it's Oneweb and up and running now.

That was the one the UK bailed out a few years ago to keep it going and that was prudent as hell but Boris was roundly mocked for it at the time.

The problem is Europe's largest arms manufacturer is BAE. South Korea could be relied upon to turn out frigate after frigate if we pay AND America says yes. You only have to look at the Columbian Sweden Gripen deal to see how easy it would be for America to block trades on the grounds it may contain

Turkey has an opportunity.

A decade ago it was proposed to grant them a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area with the EU as an alternative to membership.

That needs dusted off and sweetened in return for a new EU / Turkey defence agreement including defence spend there counting as 'Europe'

There's a lot of US equipment/tech that they'll only sell to allied countries for use in those countries. They're not as keen to sell to everyone as you might expect.
