There is an argument to care about waste in a social democracy to maintain broad based support for the system. Only 1) U.S. isn't a social democracy, it has a small bit of a safety net, it's not Denmark 2) DOGE is pure plutocratic grift, it's not about that whatsoever, it's just theft.

Waste isn’t our problem. Handouts and low taxes for rich people are. Unrestrained capitalism is. We need to make the welfare state great again.

If MAGA really cared about government costs, they would start with the military. The US spends over $900 billion a year on defense, more than the next 9 countries combined, and with virtually no oversight.
