The reasons are simple:

These wealthy individuals did not like how COVID brought with it economically disruptive mitigation measures and a shift in the balance of power between capital and labor. They did not want a return of more active government.

So, they’ve been working to destroy science.

This RealClear journal is just the latest example of manufactured prestige by the right.

Over the weekend, we reported on how Robert Kennedy Jr. had cited a junk anti-vax study from a new “journal” from a sketchy anti-vax advanced learning LLC. The study itself was funded by an anti-vax group.

Before that, we exposed a new group called the American Academy of Sciences and Letters, which was giving awards to right-wing operatives alongside legit academics.

Turns out the group was funded by an investment fund CEO involved in bankrolling right-wing beachheads at universities.
