And one certainly wonders whether - if some first party Nintendo games have mouse support going forward - they are leaving open to the possibility of bringing those games to PC.

It feels like Nintendo finally making a "2" branded console says something a little unfortunate about game industry stagnation, but we will see what they actually do with it. There's potential for some interesting stuff here
do you think the console name would be interpreted notably differently if nintendo called it a "nintendo super switch"? i wonder if it's the semantics or the physical form of the consoles that factor more into the game industry stagnation as we all see it
On one hand yea, on the other I've been awash in so many iterative tech upgrades that make stuff so much worse that something that basically sticks to what works feels a little novel
Switch 2 isn't the best name, but it's way better than Wii U, easily.
As for mouse support, I don't know if I would say they're bringing games to PC necessarily, but it could also just mean that they're getting more PC games on there, like LoL.
I think the 2 branding might be more to establish it as its own platform. The "New" 3DS was technically its own platform but only had a handful of exclusives, and Wii U was apparently confusing branding for a lot of people, so...
It would have been foolish to go back to dedicated handheld and home consoles really but the name I attribute to Nintendo getting so badly burnt on WiiU

Nintendo lawyers: that platform that had Yuzu and Ryujinx, remember
Nintendo: Oh. Fark them then.
Also I like to think they're taking direct fire at PlayStation 2.

its a dumb name and ill always call it the super switch, but im pretty sure thats the calculus
