If you know literally anything about current music, you would know what the 'inside joke' was. 'They Not Like Us' was one of, if not THE biggest song of 2024. One of the biggest events in music, period. Both artists are internationally known! sorry you felt left out?
1, why so desperate for my attention that you'd respond TWICE 6hrs apart?
2, yes literally.
3, is rap NOT music?
4, i prefer alt rock too, but the majority of the bands who chart NOW? became popular a decade+ prior or they're Billie Eilish.
U2 & RHCP are not current bands.
Why is it important to have a band that charts now? Personally, I consider rap to me poetry, not music. I didn't know any hip hop. Btw, there are multiple charts. I don't care about mainstream charts. I get on Blue sky perhaps a couple of times per day and respond when I can.
You continue to change the subject, so I'm informing you this is not how we have conversations of value. You reject the music, you reject ANY explanation of his art--We only want to extend our knowledge, so you might appreciate this performance. You are poorer for rejecting it. I'm done.
I would choose Harry Styles for a current act, or a few from the emerging country/ rock crossover pocket such as Noah Kahan, Teddy Swims, Hozier, Chris Stapleton, shaboozy. Right now the top choices for commercials are Classic Vinyl. They would be more universally appealing choices.
lol you keep naming folks who’ve sold far fewer records, get far fewer listens, drive far fewer headlines. Just say you don’t like hip hop decades you’ve got the usual classic racist attitudes about the genre. It’s not new, this is a 50-year-old tradition. You have lots of company. 🤪
i didn't ask & you didn't answer anything i DID ask you. it's clear that you just want folks to validate YOUR opinion, but everyone you've talked to on bsky disagrees. you seem lonely, desperate to talk to someone about YOUR music tastes but refuse to listen to anyone else. that is rude & unpleasant
It was not FOR every earhole at that moment. Some baffled folks will have to do research, Google up some lyrics, maybe listen to studio versions of those songs. Prob not going to expend the effort to do so... But the target audience was right in tune and loving it. White is not "default".
You were inconvenienced? You didn't have familiar things dropped into your open mouth like a baby bird? Exposed to something new? Gosh that's hard to process. Was it a disturbing experience? That's really hard, and it's all too much. Don't worry you can watch Kid Rock any time over on Truth Social.
You're jumping to conclusions. Apparently the back story in one that you would only know of you're a fan. A performance on a national stage, should be off universal interest. Prince understood that. As did U2 and Bruno Mars.
There are more people in the TV audience than the stadium. I find it illogical that you believe that anyone who dislikes rap and can understand it must only like the has been, Kid Rock. What's that about?
You’re saying that a performance by a Pulitzer Prize winning black man was….alienating?
It has since come out that Fox turned down his mic because they didn’t want him to be heard. They quite literally silenced him because they didn’t want your feelings to be hurt by his words. Hope this helps!
It's alienating when an artist chooses material that their audience can't relate to. The assignment for an artist performing for a national audience should include an attempt to have universal appeal. Prince was such an artist. As was U2.
