If Trump doesn’t respect the authority of the judicial branch, why would he respect the authority of the legislative? The things he’s doing are already illegal. Hell, even impeachment is just another effect of law. Once enforcement of law is nullified, the entire system is nullified.

State forces - police and the Army National Guard - should be prepared to enforce the orders of the federal courts should the US Marshals and other fail to do their duties.

Maryland is right next to DC.

The law is clear that POTUS can bring National Guard units under the DoD chain of command. This was last tested in the mid 2000's when liberal governors didn't want to send units to Iraq.

This is obviously new territory, and should things keep spiraling, Colonels in the Nat'l Guard will be called upon to ignore nationalization orders from the Pentagon in favor of their normal chain of command to the state Adjutant General and the Governor.

It may be a hybrid, with competing internal agendas, a sort of theo-techno-popu-fascist regime that eventually will collapse on itself, but do a lot of damage to the rest of us in the process.

The speaker implied today that they would codify the changes trump is making but I doubt they have the votes and it also doesn't change that what is happening is against the law and it also clearly implies that he wants to make Congress a rubber stamp for everything trump and eLoon do
