Every time I walk into a Barnes & Noble I give the poetry section a glance in hopes of finding just- the most depressing little book of heart wrenching poems imaginable.
And every time all I see are “a story in four parts: happiness, conflict, sorrow, and hope”. Usually of the romantic variety.

But poetry is such a good written medium for expressing emotions. Something about its rhythm and structural constraints just sorta forces writers to have to carefully craft each line, pick each word.
Not so.
