Jews are an ethnoreligious people. Judaism doesn’t claim to be for everyone. We don’t expect others to be Jewish. And we don’t conform to Christian norms about ethnicity or religion because we existed prior to Christians asserting those norms.

Even within Jewish self-definitions, belief is pretty low on the list of things that are required for someone to be considered Jewish, and there are extremely limited circumstances where someone can cease to be Jewish. You're just plain wrong about this

The claim to being a folk or a people is based entirely on religious scripture not on any sense of nationality.
You can make this argument about Israeli Jews but not Judaism as a whole, because again it is a religion no matter how it manifests culturally it's all based around a faith in God.

That doesn't mean Judaism is a "race" or mono-ethnic, but it has components more similar to ethnicity than to the Christian concept of faith, which you're incorrectly imposing on it. The vast majority of Jews have no "beleif" in the religion, they're still Jews

That is like saying being born into a muslim faith makes you muslim automatically no matter how your belief is. Christian, Jewish, Muslim doesn't matter.If you renounce your religion you are no longer part of that religion no matter with which you started out with because they are all made up.

Aside from using "Palestinian" as a dehumanizing brand labeling someone an enemy of the state, a smaller reason why what Trump is saying here is bad is that he's somehow given himself the authority to also brand people un-Jews worthy of persecution for breaking from state-approved Jewishness
