they don't actually have that much different architecture from old places if you take the vindagnyr people as reference! it fits with that and these should be similar time as enka but younger than kaenri'ah

right, but when enka was released they made a point of making the design different, when we already had the vindagnyr ruins all over the place, and after that they kept showing both types in different places, so there must be something to the difference 😵‍💫

mh yeah the vindagnyr was the one that they talk about being the united civilisation and enka was very cut off a long time plus orobashis influence was basically just dark sea stuff - even if the oldest enka would coincide with the unified people they still wouldn't meet i think

so either these two civs existed at the same time and they had a difference we can't pinpoint yet, or the architectural style changed around the time the nails fell (but that also makes no sense cause both enka and sal vind were built before the nails fell 😵‍💫)

was just walking around there yesterday, and remembered these old ruins, there's also more of them around the island beside it.. since enka used to be above ground I wonder if they were ever connected

but then there's the weird timeline around Sal Vind vs Enka type ruins.. they should both be from around the same time, but maybe the enka ones are from a slightly earlier time

it's interesting that you mentioned that enka used to be aboveground bc i was thinking about it realistically at first. it could be so far in the sea because:
- the land was higher before (collapse due to earthquake or volcanism)
- the sea was lower before (suggesting an ice age/more glaciers)

it was probably either to fight watatsumi in the conflict with orobashi, or to fight the creatures from the dark sea. it just feels like such a weird, remote location. it's even odder that it's exactly the place you'd occupy to fight watatsumi, but afaik the shogunate military never did...

ooh right, it could have been to fight the dark sea, but no one in inazuma would have built in that style by the time enkanomiya was raised. it's the same as tsurumi, the ruins in that style should be from before the celestial nails were even thrown 🤔

Acording to lore (I don't remember where it is said exactly) that place was Watatsumi's fort during Yasiori's invasion.

But I'm pretty sure they used an already existing construction from before the archon war times.

Non-decarabian Mondstadt, Inazuma, part of Liyue and Sumeru, all share the same type of ruins that I call the "Temple of thousand winds type".
