Was at a Hands Off Protest yesterday. A guy comes by with his daughter recording him on a cellphone. He remained calm and civil, but was trying to get people to take his anti-trans bait. Two women did. I finally suggested to them that they shouldn't be giving him any O2.

Because if this comes to an end, the people that end it believe they will blame us for getting us here. It is not in their interest to fight vociferously for us because it might implicate their own complicity in how we got here.

If this doesn't end, then they are more worried about their own tails.

Part of the reason may be that these blatantly evil memos are just so ubiquitous and other big conversations are already taking up oxygen. The tariffs, violation of due process by ICE, and protests are taking up a lot of conversational space.
