Firstly, I decided to take public transportation…. According to google maps the route was take a bus then the train … the bus was a 22 mins walk. So I said hell naa 22 mins walk with luggage.

So I said Ill call a taxi … this is in Istanbul, Turkey btw. The uber took 15 mins to come… So I changed the destination to just lemme skip the bus stop n go straight to the metro station. Fair enough…….
Took a while but I figured it out and reached inside the metro station bare in mind I have zero internet connection. S/o to that old man that saw me looking lost asf and directed me in Turkish language even though I don’t know Turkish 😂😂😂. Content clues are a hell of a thing.
*Gets to the airport* Trying to find my check in Desk 😖. Asked the security they said over there check in starts in 30 minutes. I join this long ass line. Asking multiple ppl if they are going to Egypt they said yes. You would think I’m in the right line with the right airline right??? Wrong !!
I’ve taken a few flights in my life so I know that baggage drop off ends 1 hr before departure. Departure was at 1:15 🫣 it was 12:11 and the line wasn’t moving. So I questioned again this time I asked what time flight? Bear in mind there’s Turkish and Arabic speakers and I only speak English.
So I used google translate and asked the guy what time is flight was he said 2pm to Cairo 🫣. So I was in the wrong damn line with 3 mins to go. Soooo I did the biggest panic dash of my life 🫣. Asked some more people. 🥲 made it to the right desk at 12:14. Guy said baggage is cut off 😖😖😖
😭😭.. the guy asked why I was late told him I was in the wrong line he said baggage is off. He called the supervisor.. supervisor said sure… yaaay right no. Then the guy said I can board because I need a visa which I didn’t have. However, proper research said its visa on arrival for Jamaicans.
