I'm watching that Zack Snyder Norse mythology show and while it's got all the same weaknesses as a rebel moon I am having a much better time with it -R

I *wanted* to love it, but it has some really odd choices, and I don’t super-love how Áile’s arc wrapped up. I’ll definitely watching a second season though!
It's definitely on par with the director's cut of Rebel Moon, and holy shit is it horny as fuck, I mean I expected several sex scenes including a few threesomes, but the one where it's one of the recruits fucking a woman while getting fucked by her brother was surprising to say the least
Like yes, the story is made of carved up chunks of the plots of other stories. Doomed hometown, doomed wedding with bloody bride, they've even got ringwraiths in pursuit in episode 3 for some reason. And it's very gross for grossness's sake. AND YET -R
I will also always be impressed with how casually Snyder makes his main cast extremely egalitarian and diverse without batting an eye. Norse mythology fandom is such a hotbed of misogyny and white supremacy it's an extra pleasant surprise. Snyder loves EVERYONE getting to kick ass and so do I -R
I will give the story creativity points! They used the "Loki as scapegoat" element of the lore in an extremely rad way that served some very cool characterization. Loki is probably the most nuanced character in this show, plus they've done some cheeky references to his loose fire/spider links -R
Yeah, it totally is dumb and horny, but it feels more fun, and like there is more passion and spice in there. Although it could just be that I love Norse mythology and animation.
it sounds dumb for me to say this, but that one clip of a snyder fan reacting to a moment in the show did turned me off from thinking about watching it
But is there grain? Are there extended scenes of farming grain. Is grain the major focus of the plot? Does grain get more screen time than the supporting cast? I only watch movies and TV shows for the grain.
I'm curious what your thoughts are for Thor's characterization. The more I watched the more I kept thinking of Hera from Blood of Zeus. In the sense that the character behaves differently and is intentionally unlikable or else the plot might unravel.
Red I am PRAYING you see this!! I’m doing an art project for university and it’s a little hard to explain but do you two have a video discussing homosexuality in Ancient Greece or any good sources for it?
Snyder is so hit or miss. Sometimes he does excellent stuff. I liked his version of Dawn of the Dead and his Justice League was actually great. Then he does things like Sucker Punch and Rebel Moon...

Can't go wrong with Hanz Zimmer I suppose.
