from everything i've read, *none* of them are clones. they're just gestated in artificial wombs. made via IVF rather than copies of existing individuals.
making them closer to the Clan Trueborns of battletech, or the 'tanks' of Space Above and Beyond than the clonetroopers of Star Wars.
i attribute the confusion to the fact that artificial gestation being used for something other than clones is uncommon in popular scifi. so when people see references to what is obviously artificial gestation technology, they immediately think of clones rather than fancy IVF.
To be fair the novel with the colonel is quitte obscure on that aspect we know that he's extremly shocked by what's under the gazmask but does he see himself or a "son" it doesn't say.
And as we know mankind had clone tech before so the jump is quickly made ^^
that imperial Armor 5 came out five years after Star Wars Attack of the Clones, and 2 seasons into the Star Wars: The Clone Wars TV show probably didn't help.

Usually there is a 10% women Guard on the frontlines, as per Inquisitor Amberley Vale. Some have more some have less and Krieg had none.
It is also how I read the FemStodes drama. They needed more soldiers and thus worked with what they had.
A lot of them are but some are from the "normal" tithe.
