It doesn’t help that I live in the US, where I don’t think the Amiga brand was ever super well known, at least in the gaming space.

Yeah, it wasn't really that popular in the US. They were good machines, but later on in their lifespan, they just couldn't compete with the PC

Yeah, I believe there is a very cut down version on the NES; I considered getting it instead when I bought the GB version.
