That report was very interesting to read! Republicans highlight the fact that the shooting was justified but omit the fact that the police and city government were using the “justice” system as a revenue generation for the town.

It was also a unique experience to live through the riots and aftermath, seeing St. Louis portrayed in catastrophic terms on national news and living a very different reality day to day.

I work in the city & some of my friends from the suburbs who never go into the city were bemoaning how horrible the protests were – interrupting things and making it hard to get around. I told them the truth: it's infinitely harder to get around town when there's a home game for the Cardinals.

We made sure to visit local businesses to support them during the protests. I remember eating dinner at Ferguson Brewing one night when a group of protestors marched by. People who were angry and hurting wanted to be seen & heard - IMO, more important than blocking traffic after a ballgame.

The short-term inconvenience caused by the protests does seem insignificant. At the same time, I am also wondering how this sentiment can be transformed into a longer-term and wider impact. What do you think?

Yes, I noticed that same tendency. Honesty requires us to acknowledge truth, especially truths that don't fit with our biases or narratives. People and life are complex and defy simplistic categories.
