Dont you find it annoying that as soon as NUFC find themselves with a decent player (eg Isak), all the press want to talk about who of the “big clubs” we are going to sell to - I don’t see the same speculation around Haaland or Salah etc.

How can we win anything if we can’t keep our best players ?

When you think of how we stood by Tonali (for a whole season) it feels ludicrous to suggest that he would just just up sticks and push off.

We’re in two cup competitions and with a reasonable chance of Champions League qualification. Why would any decent player want to leave now ?

Both him and his agent have disputed the claims.

Because the clubs Haaland and Salah don’t have to sell them because the rules have been set up to protect the status quo and ensure NUFC and others can not catch up with them and will always have to sell our best players. We will need to sell one of our best players in summer

Totally. The only chance we get top 6 is if Spurs and Man U is having an awful season, like this year. The money they have spent and how shit they are is so good to watch. But you know what? Spurs and Man U will finish low down but both win a cup and get Europe!

Our squad priorities seem to be dictated by the PSR rules. They require us to generate more revenue before we can spend. A sustained European campaign has to be our best hope

I get that. Without the squad to rotate, we won’t get european football, most importantly- champions league.
Yet we can’t spend, except we chased Guehi last window, now we have to sell to spend.

I find the Guehi stuff really confusing. There was no bid above 55m despite multiple reports going up to 70m. However, if we had signed him, we would have been in the same position as last season… needing to sell in January to comply with PSR.

Utterly bizarre to nearly repeat the same mistake.

I believe the Guehi saga had much to do with Steve Parrish trying it on with NUFC.

A bit of a sanctimonious so and so if you ask me.

As for Guehi - feels a bit like a bullet dodged to me. Even the England squad has its fair share of average players - this being one of them.

Signing Barnes for 35-40m looks really bad, in the context of PSR, when that money could have been invested into 2/3 squad/young players.

Even signings that have worked out (Tonali, Botman, Isak) has stunted our ability to spend money in the transfer windows.

I guess the consequence of not fit for purpose transfer strategy and the pressure of achieving UCL so quickly has perhaps damaged long term squad building more than people would like to admit.

Fortunately, 73m will be freed up entering July + potentially selling a few players…
