To be honest, it's never returning to phones. And that was very much by design. Also, it's not the same as it was. I heard it's even more censored. Were you able to find some of the people you follow on any other platform?

He didn’t necessarily save it — he stalled the ban again. It is going to be back on the chopping block within the next 70-90 days again if it doesn’t sell.

It’s still not available on any App Store because of the ban.

There is a video feed here on Bluesky that mimics the video scroll. The content isn’t great like TikTok though. You can pretend for a bit.

Honestly there’s not even any “news” on it anymore. It’s heavily censored and if you look up anything serious it’s likely blocked content or random AI videos :/

Oh no, that’s not good. The first few days were a shock for me but they’ve changed it so much for us. Almost anything can be translated and you can now scroll like Tik Tok.

Supposedly Apple & Google are waiting for more clear language from the DOJ to make sure they won't get bopped for putting it back in the app store.

TikTok expects a letter to that effect sometime within the next week.

It appears to still be available if you look it up on a computer browser. Not as handy as on your phone, but still there.

Technically you can also use it on your phone’s browser but it’s incredibly broken. No lives, no saves, sharing is broken, and while most of the time the FYP kinda works it tends to cycle the same people over and over again rather than what it did before. The following page is slightly better.

Also if you search for people it’ll crash half the time and won’t let you select videos the other half. On a computer it’s much better.
