Acquired from AZ for Jon Rauch, blazing fast utilityman hit .248 with 5 2B, 5 3B, 6 SB in 41 games in 2008 before getting traded to FLA for Scott Olsen/Josh Willingham. Played in only 3 games during second stint in D.C.

Joined Nats near end of 12-year career, batting .241 with 6 HR, 28 RBI in 104 games mostly off bench. Career .263 hitter with 126 HR, 555 RBI for 6 clubs (mostly CIN). Hit pennant-clinching homer for NYY in 2003, later managed them to World Series.

Went 4-4 with 3.74 ERA in 45 relief appearances, slightly more than half of 88 career MLB appearances with four other clubs (ATL/CHC/OAK/COL). Has dealt with significant health issues in recent years, getting help from MLB community.

Acquired with Henry Rodriguez from A’s for Josh Willingham, played in 36 games over parts of three seasons, batting .175 with 2 HR, 4 RBI. Appeared in only 3 more MLB games with Red Sox.

Struggled during 19-game stint with Nats, going 1-2 with 7.64 ERA in 19 relief appearances. Had 4.68 ERA, 13 saves in 273 career games (mostly with Yankees, D-backs).
Lesson: annoying Rizzo by wasting his time is a bad plan.
