But that's the point. He intercepted the ball, *indirectly* leading to a goal. If he had immediately shot and scored, it's disallowed. Instead it went to Guimaraes, and then to Gordon. So it stands

I understand the reasoning, I just disagree with it. I think this should have been handled (no pun intended) as a foul in the build-up. If you think that there is no foul, then of course there’s no reason to disallow the goal. But as far as I know, refs usually award a free kick in similar spots.
