The dismantling of American Science continues. The Organismal Response to Climate Change grant call has been cancelled. The NSF Director is a disgrace

I've worked on several NSF and NEH grants with my dissertation/postdoc advisor and know how much work goes into proposals. This is totally f-ed up. First you spend months preparing it. Then you wait 6 months for it to be judged. If awarded, a few months twiddling your thumbs waiting for the contract

To clarify-- was this pulled after you submitted or just before the submission deadline? Has NSF notified you that a submitted grant will not be reviewed?

I and co-pi on one and the submission deadline was end a week or so ago. So this has been pulled after deadline. No communication about our recently submitted grant, yet.

I'm so sorry. This is terrible for all of us, because we lost your two months of work too. Can you at least send it elsewhere? Maybe work with people outside the U.S.? It looks like that's the best option now re: climate change. States, too, but countries have more sway.
