The political situation around the university of Florida is known to be really bad. Seems that having a job involving education when the governor is actively anti education would be a seriously shitty job
I don’t think having a HigherEd job in Florida - like say being a professor at UF - is necessarily a “seriously shitty” job but what do I know about that or the political situation around UF I’ve only been a UF professor for 23 years.
Luck has nothing to do with it. We fight back for the university we want and the students we care about. And we’re a little tired of people showing support for our efforts with “florida sucks”.
😊This looks like a very good outcome for UF. But the opaque process, with zero faculty and community input and "only one finalist", is still ripe for political corruption.
