Hm… women riding dragons is nothing new in SF. The first section of Anne McCaffrey’s “Dragonriders of Pern” series, for instance, was published in Analog in 1967, and the first paperback, “Dragonflight,” in 1968, and as of 2024 the series includes 24 novels and two collections of short stories.
