Further to my letter to Ofgem, I’ve spoken with Newcastle City Council and Karbon to push for fairness and clarity on this.
This conflicting info is a serious issue I’m continuing to press.
But conflicting claims about subsidies remain unresolved, raising questions about cost allocation.
The Council confirmed they will follow new Ofgem regulations when they come into force next year.
I expect a response by next Tuesday and will share it with you as soon as I get it.
1️⃣ Review the current cost distribution policy in the Byker District Heating Network.
2️⃣ Clarify how costs (ops, maintenance, upgrades) are allocated, incl. non-residential buildings.
3️⃣ Commit to clearer, itemised bills for all users
