I think the reason aside from the grip issues is that premium plastic usually has a greater minimum speed threshold and less low speed glide than base plastic regardless of flight numbers. The same things that make me them more torque resistant as throwing putters make them less effective for puttin

touring pros seem to use harder putters. Corey Ellis, for example, throws a challenger I think in "Discraft Rubber Blend Plastic" which is not base plastic but maybe not the "premium?" either. I have one of Corey's and it is much firmer feeling than the putter I use (classic soft deputy)

I like the Innova Pro plastic blends for putters: JKPro, KCPro, and YetiPro. Definitely not premium. I tried a champion aviar and for me it was only for driving.

I used to putt with an Eclipse Pilot (mostly because the dye is dope af) but I've since switched to electron soft.

Gastly is now a thrower-- last weekend I parked a 377'(with a big elevation drop) hole.

I putt with MVP Plasma plastic (Proxy.) Used to putt with Discraft Titanium (Roaches) for a bit before that. I don't have a problem with their grip in any weather conditions and love the extreme durability. I also love being able to throw my most used disc without worrying about damage or break in.

This definitely doesn't work for everybody and you have to figure in that premium plastic is generally a touch more overstable than a baseline plastic when choosing a mold.
