I wish more union leaders spoke openly about the political realities within the rank-and-file. Honest dialogue strengthens both movement and party—without it, we risk ceding to detached, post-materialist consultant narratives that overlook the real struggles of the working class.

But, as you say, the political realities are such that being apolitical won't work when one party is going to outlaw unions (yes, they will, and of course you know which party I mean.)
