What health risks? Bariatric surgery achieves 30-35% weight loss on average and has demonstrated safety with level 1 evidence with 10 year follow up. We don’t know know how much weight loss is optimal for health currently.

I mean, as someone who was chronically underweight, and didn’t start to get healthy until I was a healthy weight, it’s not a shocker that too much weight loss is BAD.
