Intubated with epiglottis? What does that even mean? I mean, I agree with the message, but get your terms right: an epiglottis is part of the throat, not some sort of disease.
My son at 11 months old . He is over 40 now, had meningitis. I spent 11 days sleeping under his baby bed at the hospital, not leaving him for a minute. It was horrible. That year 5 cases were found. Two children died, one was deaf, one was mentally impaired, my son was the only one that came out.
He is now a paramedic. These antivaxxers have no clue. He ran 104 fever for days. They put a cutdown in his ankle for IVs. He cried incessantly. I held him rocking and praying for hours. He was in pain. There was no vaccine then. I just don't get it.
I was a baby with meningitis. Newborn, in the hospital when I got it. (Military hospital, no less. In the '70s.) I got very lucky and my Cerebral Palsy is mild. My seizure disorder is under control. Not everyone is that lucky. I have worked with kids far more impacted. It affects the whole family
