UMass-Lowell had a grant to train diverse teaching candidates to teach in Massachusetts gateway cities such as Boston, Lowell, Lawrence, Brockton, Fall River and Springfield. Research shows that students have higher academic achievement when taught by teachers who look like them and understand them.

The greatest recent example of this was the aftermath of Katrina in New Orleans in 2005. Black middle class veteran educators lost their jobs to be replaced with white Teach For Awhilers and public schools were shuttered for an all charter school education.

Trump hates the thought of anyone being better educated than himself, not unlike the whole MAGA group. That’s why Trump said he loves the uneducated. His attack on all education departments is part of the plan to dumb down America, and as a result would mean more votes for Republicans!
