Post-Bush, a lot of conservatives were too humiliated by the stink of the label to admit they were republicans so they lied and claimed to b libertarians. I feel like this is just the inverse, because what you have just described is liberal capitalism and it FUCKING SUCKS. Sorry!

It's shallow, hollow, a scam, and a lie.
It's describing the actual opposite of Economic liberalism.
In Germany the refusal of Social Democrats to work with the Democratic Socialists completely diluted the former, killed the latter and unified the right. Marvelous.
Even here, instead of being about fighting fascism, it’s just one more usual lib concession a la “dont worry right wingers, we arent actually a threat, i promise, we too, are anti-communist”.
ive seen a fair share of this, but thats not what’s happening w that post
This is just centrist libs coming in to derail, and to malign anyone who isnt pro-capitalist as “communists”, to farm animosity toward the “extremist” communist “others”?
But there is little functional difference between internal or external bad-faith agitation if it results in sentiments like "Social Democrats are neo-libs" or "Democratic Socialists are right-wing, actually".
Im literally a demsoc myself.
it doesnt seem my point had reached you at all. You are simply blaming the wrong people here, and thats all.
Neither quote of my post was trying to paraphrase you btw, apologies if it came across like that.
Conceivably that could refer to socdems (centre-left), but your wording contrasts socdems with the “moderate left”, which leaves me confused about what you were trying to say
That doesnt mean there arent a large number of bad faith actors using that label who are categorically neoliberal saboteurs (including all of UK Labour atp).
That's probably why I vented my frustrations here. Sorry.
East Germany had private companies in some forms but still at large was a planned economy.
The economy was doing well considering too and had great worker protections. The single party police state was the big problem.
They are definitely not pro-union and are anti-strike.
Capitalism not being commerce is apparent by seeing how trade and commerce existed (feudal times and prior) long before capitalism existed (Industrial Revolution)
Lay communication is hard though
Whoever wrote that literally just did the classic bit of mistaking the ideology for Europe-style social democracy.
