The only reason I don’t like it is because he’s too good looking 😂 the book describes him as having a hooked nose, long greasy hair, etc. 0 issues with him being black, 100% issue with him not matching the book description at all. I guess we’ll have to see what they do with makeup.

It’s the inverse. He shouldn’t play it because the aesthetic of morality in HP is, “white is right”. This casting PORTENDS, blackness is morally wrong.

It’s worse than trans-phobia.

It’s SAFER for gay & trans people, than black people, in USA & abroad. Being LGBTQIA is safer, than being brown.

Ugh, I'm torn on this one. Like, I want to support POC casting in the Potter-verse, but at the same time I hate the idea of them remaking the damn Potter-verse. It feels like virtue signaling for money, but this poor guy obviously can't turn down the opportunity.

I didn't know about this and not sure what i think - but my only issue with a new Harry Potter series is that JK Rowling will benefit financially that is abhorrent to me considering what a horrible person she has turned into.
