Pretty much everyone says the same: they love the teaching and the research. But of course they love it in their own ways. And they hate the ways academic life is changing. None of which will surprise you.
For myself at least, two aims:
1) Do all I can to ensure the flourishing of my junior colleagues, using my position to their advantage
2) as I think you and I have discussed, build something outside the academy where I can take a different approach to my work.
