I do it a bit. It was a little bit mean, at least that's what I think
I feel like it was a mistake, even if the original run was a mess and it was ok to talk about some mistakes the team had, I think in the long run it only encouraged more hate
Part of the hate was already fueled by the fear of our main characters changing to the point that I feel some fans were expecting them to be gary stus or mary sues despite it wouldn't make any sense because of their upbringing
And it makes sense for Jade and Ruby to have their roles swapped, because Jade cannot stand loneliness, being all alone with a dog is what defined her childhood and it is traumatic, she wasn't alone by choice, she was forced to be alone, isolated
i feel like people forget post-retcon jade gained another 3 years of solitude in the ship while thinking john and davesprite were dead 😭 that woman definitely has emotional issues

i don't regret my initial hatred of hs2

Why would she have a healthy mother-daugther relationship with her own daughter? Ruby is like an emotional support daughter for Jade
She has an emotional dependency, something that is hard to address or even acknowledge
Adoption was already nearly impossible, which worsened her situation, and she was an ecto-child and felt lonely, so the best option is a bio child
i would consider the events that primarily composed homestuck 2's initial run were just a PR disaster lain end to end.
anyone who says the epilogues are the most atrocious shit ever mostly just have not engaged with it.
