Update: There is now an option NOT to show these messages.

Just go into your Chat Settings and toggle it off. (It's ON by default.)

this is neat, it means if there's any in-jokes for banned terms there's the ability to allow/respond to it and if anyone's fishing around for addresses in banned terms they'll be visible to mods

That's such a good change! I thought blocked terms would still show this way before but apparently not as I had an issue where someone was questioning a term I had blocked and I had to discuss in discord about it because I couldn't see what they had tried to enter in twitch chat 🫠

I've honestly never seen that setting to add my own terms, but I'll admit it's not like I went looking, I just switched it on and let it do it's job.

So I guess I'm confused about what's changed then? Cos I've had the option to accept/deny for ages. Is it just that it's adding it to viewer cards?

Blocked terms just would never be sent. If you added terms here they would automatically be denied and never bother you. Say there's a slur that really bothers you you don't want to see a hateful person use, now they get to make sure you see it even if it's blocked because it needs approval now.

Basically, it now forces you to see things you know you don't want to see. Many of which were bots trying to spam you, but now you get spammed, just not people in your chat.

Well that's what I mean... I've had the Approve/Deny for months. When I accept, it then let's the message through. When I don't, it doesn't post it. Was I just in some beta feature and didn't know? I was sure we had this for ages.

No, you were never warned about a blocked term. You were warned that automod -held- a term and had the option to add those to blocked terms, in which it would not ask you anymore.

This is actually really nice on a channel that blocks a lot of terms, because we frequently have to whisper someone to see what they said wrong when they ask.

Plus the heads-up that someone is trying to say an atrocious blocked term is always nice before they find a way around the filters.

I'm confused...does Twitch not know the difference between AutoMod and Moderators? Blocked terms is for catching stuff that is never acceptable. Moderators are there to catch stuff that isn't in the filter. The option to turn off this new change is good, but then change never needed to be made.

I unchecked mine when I was going to my BTTV Settings. Why make mods see stuff that we already have set to be blocked? I'm thankful we're able to choose though.

I hate this, this should be an opt in/ toggled setting. If I blocked the term it was for a reason, and I dont want it in my chat, or approvable for my chat, for any reason
