I need Korrasami fans to take it down SEVERAL notches because I should not be getting harassed, called "anti queer" and that I "hate brown queer women" because they wanted more Korrasami. It's insane.

I honestly was not expecting Korra & Asami to be in this comic at all! I was overjoyed for that singular panel ! I also appreciate that it did not take away from the story, this was about Bolin & Mako <3 you did an amazing job, don’t let that loud ass minority take away from you and your teams work!
Seconding what Jenny said, you really blew it out of the park on with this book. People can be really insensitive and cruel and they shouldn't be taking it out on you.
Everyone should know that @darkhorse.com EXCLUSIVELY hires incredible, badass, talented, organized, knowledgeable, and hard working editors. And they're all blessed with the patience of a saint. Lol
Not only that, but the writers aren't gods deciding the fate of the Avatar world. They've got people to answer to too. If people want to point fingers, it's gonna be hard to know where to point. Maybe gesture at the company owning the IP, but they're doing great in my opinion. 😅
Fandoms need to learn to acknowledge that there is a hierarchy on these projects. It is so much bigger than any 1 person. It's one thing to critique & another to harass anyone who works on something you don't like. Many people are working their asses off trying to please a huge divisive fanbase.
That being said I've gotten 98% kind people. But I saw the way comics would get torn to shreds on Twitter. I'd be feeling terrible about a drawing and think, oh god, they're gonna hate it too. And people are shocked when the faces behind those things actually approach them and say, hey, I'm a human.
We're humans that have slumps, face emotional times in our personal lives, get injured, etc. We can have opinions without being cruel. You know I love a rant, I'm clearly opinionated about a lot of things. People can dislike whatever. But can we acknowledge the scope & limitations of IP projects.
Needless to say I'll go to bat for everyone, not just myself, working on these comics. And Avatar in general! Everyone I've met on Avatar projects has been an amazing, patient, kind, hard working person.
Thank you!❤️ For sure. In my experience they're definitely just a very loud minority of the fandom. I just open myself up to it when I interact with fandom things, but hey I was a fan way before I started working on the IP. 😅
How dare you, an artist working on an IP you don't own, paid by a massive corporation who have people working separately on story, branding etc, not simply change everything you've been told to make to appease fans!! ugh. People are exhausting.
Not at all it's just, there's other characters. Other stories people want to have told. And it's not for me to decide. But as a fan I love that side characters are getting stories! I feel like most people feel the same and are chill. Just a couple not so chill people in my space lately. Lol
I'm sorry to hear that's already happening. It's so insensitive! As a fan, I loved the work you all put into this and I can't wait to see what else you have in store! 🙌
your line work for the brothers’ story has made me smile so much while reading this comic, i’ve had fo pause and admire expressions and details as i read through it 💗 thank you for your hard work! you and the team did amazing! and thank you for the korrasami panel 🫶🏼
Its incredibly embarassing to see those people around with images of characters from the show or showing any love for the show and then proceed to be incredibly mean to people who work on things related to it, you did a fantastic job and yeah those people just insane at this point
Your illustrations in the comic are absolutely wonderful and full of life. You depicted the brothers so well! I loved the story and i'm just glad we're still getting TLOK comics!! I can only hope to see more of your work in the future ❤️
I get it’s been a minute since the last Korra comic, but the first two trilogies had tons of Korrasami and Mako wasn’t even in the Patterns in Time anthology. All the characters need time to shine.
