Been very poor from both companies all year for me, and in AEW's case even longer. AEW has not gone niche enough for what it is, WWE has focused on doing a victory lap and not the wrestling.
The last episode of Dynamite though was the best episode of wrestling tv in probably 2 years, anywhere.
Preach! Just when you think they'll "take their foot off the pedal a bit" they go full-tilt and deliver legendary episodes of #AEWDynamite and #AEWCollision. They don't even have a PPV for another month and they're like, "Nah, we'll do even more!" #AEW
I think STARDOM has hit its stride after Rossy and they have been great the last several months. DDT and TJPW are always good. I always love Dragon Gate. NOAH was good early this year, but its booking is getting stale.
My hatred for WWE is based on their politics and how they do business, but I genuinely respect someone liking their brand of pro wrestling. But it's not for me, personally, and I would feel that way even if they weren't in bed with Trump and actively trying to monopolize the entire industry.
The Khans are Trump supporters and donators too. Do you now hate AEW too or are you just a hypocrite? You know, since you've just said Trump support is what made you be done with WWE
I'm not thrilled with Khans being supporters but until they actively work with Trumps administration to destroy America then I'd have a big problem with them.
Also, you seem to miss the point that I was done with WWE well before Trump was in office because the product was and still is awful.
Wwe doesn't actively work with his administration either though. Just Linda who's got nothing to do with WWE anymore. But yeah I get your point. Just been seeing a lot of AEW fans condemn WWE for supporting him but giving Khan a free pass. Your the 1st one to not act like khan has no ties to him
there's been some more sports entertainment type shit on the shows since 2022.
they tried harded to appeal to casuals in the last 2 years.
(and some of that has been better than anything WWE does, but my point still stands)
Truly hope they are able to hold this momentum. I have a gut feeling that this popularity wave with WWE is getting ready to pop. If that happens AEW has a chance to do something insane
WWE has gotten away with openly disrespecting the expectations of its fan base. The connection to Trump and their openly flouting it will have a negative effect, though [gestures around this thread] as with Trump, there will always be true believers who will make up reasons to stick with them.
They really changed back to the booking philosophy they had in 2019-2022. Tony mentioned kicking voices out of the room and going with his instincts again, and he is well on his way to being booker of the year again. AEW, while certainly not perfect, is the best booked weekly show(s) right now again

I mean, besides TJPW, because they're always #1.
There really is no comparing AEW with WWE. They're not doing the same thing and it more than shows out in the wash, so to speak.

I have only recently noticed the complaints about Smackdown, and the Mania build.
I believe it. Even if I was on break for a good month and a half.
