I was gonna note just how rural Maine is, in most of the space on that map, but upon further research I came to learn that Maine doesn't really have any 75k+ cities, so yeah this is pretty fucked.

maine is the most rural state in the nation, in that a greater share of our population live in rural areas than any other, so yeah quite a large share of the population live quite far from any office

But yeah I figured at least Portland would have more than 100k people but not even
yeah, portland is quite small. it has a core downtown area that feels like a city, but once you get out of that it can feel quite suburban. and it's like only a 20 min drive to be in the middle of the woods
