Even though the two of them ignored each other at school, they become friends as they train.
That's great!
There ARE kids who get abused by their dad.
There ARE kids whose parents are (or were) addicted to drugs.
Books like Matt Wallace's "Nowhere Special" are so important.
I liked the ending because it showed how kids can get away (hopefully) from these very serious problems. There's light at the end for our protags.
