That's completely beside the point. This isn't a discussion of does it make sense to have Nazi flags in classrooms. It's a discussion of what does this bill actually do and this headline paints a picture like it's not just okay fly a Nazi flag outside a school or classroom and that's not the case.
I agree with you there's no need to have a Nazi flag for educational purposes. I agree it's bigoted to ban pride flags but that's not the point. The point is we should be honest about what's happening. When they do something that's already bad you don't need to lie in order to make it sound worse.
No one can make it sound worse, it’s completely open to interpretation. The story can be googled by many different sources, and it’s still the same thing. Pride flags cannot be flown or displayed in/on government buildings, but the confederate/nazi flags can for“educational purposes” only.
It's not open to interpretation. Either words mean something or they don't. "Displayed for educational purposes" is different from "I can just fly a Nazi flag outside my school classroom to show my support for fascism" and this headline clearly implies the latter.
I don't know a lot about him or live in his district (anymore). I know he's a horrible person I know he's super homophobic. But again not relevant. Either the bill says you can fly a Nazi flag or it doesn't and it doesn't. It's still an awful awful bill but don't lie about what it says.
The initial bill was for it to be just in classrooms. Then it expanded to GOVERNMENT buildings. Why would we need them displayed at government buildings? “that is temporarily displayed for educational purposes," which Lee said during the hearing would include the Confederate and Nazi flags.”
