Most pharmacies will not tell someone over the phone whether or not they have a controlled substance in stock. Its a safety issue.

My experience is that they will not. You have to show up in person. And if they can only fill part of it, you aren't able to get the rest filled later.

Correct. No refills allowed on schedule 2 controls (stimulants are in this class). They wont discuss controls over the phone because you could be casing them. Pharmacies deal with a lot of robberies and break ins.

Unfortunetly it is the DEA and state boards who set those rules. Pharmacies have to follow or face fines or license suspensions. Also, the shortage was caused due to DEA shutting down 3 stimulant generic manufacturers while reducing raw materials available to remaining. They set the limits and when

The manufacturer runs out, they are out of luck until DEA releases more raw material to them. Its a racket and is thr direct cause of people in power, aka the DEA.

That is, it's reasonable for pharmacies to be very selective in what information they share. But "yes, your prescription is ready" versus "your med is out of stock, we'll call you when we can fill it" isn't exactly the amount of Schedule II meds they have on hand and the code for the safe.

Almost every single tech I have ever worked with has experienced a robbery. We are taught in training not to discuss controls or quantities. Some of that sounds like they are going overboard, I will tell someone if we have something in stock but not amount. "I currently have stock" is all I will say

What element of vyvanse is used to manufacture street drugs? If there is no such element, you're not likely to be flagged. It's only opiates and precursor elements used in meth production that the DEA flags people for.

Our PMP or PDMP (prescription drug monitoring program) only tracks controlled prescriptions that are sold, not just trying to track it down, but we also do not discuss controlled substance quantities over the phone.
