Uber, Lyft, and the like should be illegal - only licensed, regulated taxi services should be legal. I've had too many low-quality, even dangerous experiences with rideshares. I had to call the police on one following a ride where they fully stopped on the median between a highway and the offramp.

It’s like why couldn’t everyone just put an advertisement up on the side of their car that you can flag them down for a ride when they wanted extra cash? That’s because it’s illegal to operate a taxi without the appropriate requirements. Why should it be different under an app? Makes no damn sense.

Minicabs (private hire taxis) have never had to pass the knowledge.
However all cabs in the UK incl private hire (which includes Uber etc) do have to be specially licensed and that does make a difference.
The bad drivers annoy me. Some of us take pride in our work.
Definitely agree uber and Lyft need to be regulated more heavily.
