Cruella Braverman has called for jailed Lucy Connolly to be freed, following her X incitement post after the Southport murders.
Cruella, along with other "senior Conservatives" including Lettuce Liz Truss, seems to think she was jailed for, essentially, exercising her right to free speech.

Let's just remind ourselves of what she posted:
"Mass deportation now, set fire to all the fucking hotels full of the bastards for all I care..."
Cruella, as a trained barrister, should have a better idea of the right to free expression, as it is defined in law in the UK.
The Human Rights Act 1998 enshrined the provisions of the ECHR and allows for free expression, which is limited, amongst other things, to exclude free expression which leads to public order offences. Connolly was convicted of incitement and sentenced to 31 months.
The judge was actually relatively lenient. Noting Connolly's previous good character, he ordered that she only serve 40% of the sentence before being released on licence.
If you genuinely think this is a free speech issue, you are one of two things - obtuse or dishonest. Quite possibly both.
