Mayor Parker will never achieve her goal of 10,000 homes if she has people who oppose market-rate development in the committee drafting the plan. Unless she plans to borrow billions of dollars to build it all herself.

Having differing perspectives is a positive thing...as long as everyone is rowing in the same direction. On housing, however, that's not the case. The people and organizations that believe we should have less market-rate housing are pushing in the wrong direction.
Sure, but outside of the CDCs who are far outnumbered in the advisory group by the trades and institutions, the only other major roadblock would be...councilmanic prerogative which is a constant wild card. Leveraging the remaining multifamily-zoned public parcels is key
My question is why invite orgs that don't want housing if the goal is to build. All they are going to do is make a bunch of proposals that make it harder.
