Perhaps governments around the world should develop a publicly-owned low orbit telecommunications satellite network?
Recently I visited my friend who lives 110km from Perth, WA in the central wheatbelt, near Goomalling with a slightly smaller population & he enjoys 4G.
4G is sub standard & poor quality.
sure but they need fibre backhaul.
and if you are running fibre about then you might as well connect the premises they pass...
I had Foxtel(For footy mainly)for years here and during heavy rain, which we get often, the satellite was lost every time!
Add to that that Russia has been knocking them out.
