Over 60 MPs have written to Lucy Powell, Leader of the House Commons (as chair of the modernisation committee she set up to update how parliament works) expressing their support for electronic voting to save parliamentary time.

A 15 minute vote takes up 162 combined hours of 'work' if all MPs vote, while MPs can spend as much as 20% of their day walking in circles to vote on multiple issues. There is also pressure to reduce the number of votes conducted to save time.
