And imagine who might be willing to send in workers close to the border - Egypt, Turkiye, India, maybe even Saudi Arabia. Countries that Russia would be unwise to upset.

Yup , Syria will want a closer deal with Europe. Now China , I was once told my a very knowledgeable person from there said They don't want what isn't theirs and would much rather trade , EU been getting very friendly over the last few years.

I mean, they might have a big population, but it's likely to fall...and half their country is practically empty and they have so many different resources across all their land - what more do they actually need?
