This song reminds me of hot summer days, finishing university and heading into the unknown. It always felt appropriate to me that it was released at this time in my life.
I like the song a lot but somehow it never quite stands out in their song book.

A bit like I Walk Away, in that Neil has made a song with some possible foreshadowing of the break up of his band “I lit the match, I saw another monster turn to ash. Felt the burden lifted from my back”. Although, he didn’t make the final decision until about a year after writing it.

This song had big shoes to fill. I was completely hooked on CH by this point, and Instinct's release was eagerly anticipated. It did not disappoint (although the subsequent news about the break up did). I remember recording it from Jools Holland so I could listen to it until the CD came put. 😂

I wasn’t as taken with this at first. It felt like one of those ‘oh let’s be experimental’ songs. It has grown on me since, of course, although of the three new ones for the Recurring Dream compilation I think this is the weakest. You can shout at me all you like.
